Ramadan is here. And no β it’s not just about skipping meals. Think of it like a training camp for your soul. A full system reboot. A chance to level up in every way that actually matters.
We put together this visual guide to help you β whether you’re a Ramadan veteran or this is your first real go at it. Scroll through, save the slides, share with your squad. Let’s make this the one that changes everything. π
What Is Ramadan & Why Does It Matter?

Allah says in the Qur’an: “O you who believe, fasting is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, so that you may attain taqwΔ.” (2:183)
TaqwΔ = God Consciousness. It’s like having an internal compass that keeps you on track. Being aware of Allah in every choice you make. And Ramadan? It’s the ultimate training ground β building your self-control, patience, and empathy from the inside out.
Preparing in Sha’baan β The Warm-Up

You wouldn’t run a marathon without warming up. Same energy here. Sha’baan is your prep month:
ποΈ Body Prep β Adjust your sleep, reduce food intake gradually, try voluntary fasts.
β€οΈ Heart Prep β Forgive people, cut bad habits, start daily dhikr and Qur’an.
π§ Mindset Prep β Set clear goals, make sincere intentions, plan your routine.
Tawbah β A Fresh Start

Everyone messes up. That’s not the issue. The issue is whether you come back. And here’s the beautiful thing β Allah LOVES it when you return to Him.
The Prophet ο·Ί said: “Allah is more delighted with the repentance of His servant than one of you would be if he suddenly found his camel after losing it in a desert.” (Sahih Muslim 2747)
Four steps to a real reset:
- Recognise it β No excuses. Own it.
- Feel it β Genuine regret, not just fear of getting caught.
- Stop it β Make a real commitment to change.
- Ask Allah β He never turns you away. His mercy is greater than His wrath.
The Du’a Before Ramadan

“AllΔhumma ballighnΔ RamaαΈΔn” β O Allah, allow us to reach Ramadan.
Ramadan isn’t guaranteed. Some people don’t make it. This du’a shows you value the opportunity. It builds excitement. And it’s an act of worship in itself β even asking to reach Ramadan earns you reward. π€²
What Fasting Really Is

There are two levels of fasting β and most people only know about one:
Body Fasting π½οΈ β No food or drink from Fajr to Maghrib. Training discipline and patience. The part everyone sees.
Heart Fasting π β Guarding your tongue from lies and gossip. Controlling anger. Lowering your gaze (yes, online too). Feeling the closeness of Allah. This is where the real transformation happens.
“Fasting is a shield. So the fasting person should avoid obscene speech and should not behave foolishly or ignorantly.”
β Sahih al-Bukhari 1894
The Reward of Fasting β It Hits Different

In a Hadith Qudsi, Allah says: “Every deed of the son of Adam is for himself, except fasting β it is for Me, and I shall reward it.” (Bukhari 1904)
Let that sink in. The Creator of the universe is personally handling your reward. No angel, no formula. Fasting is invisible β only Allah sees it. That’s what makes it so sincere, and so special. π
Intention β The Secret Sauce

In Islam, actions are judged by WHY they’re done, not how they look.
Fast to lose weight? You get health benefits. Fast for Allah? You get spiritual reward in this life and the next. Same action, different intention = completely different outcome.
Niyyah is a decision of the heart β make it before Fajr. Pro tip: Set your intentions for all your ibaadah, not just fasting. Use a Ramadan planner! π
Ikhlaas & Ittibah β Accepted Fasting

Two conditions for any deed to be accepted by Allah:
Ikhlaas β Sincerity. Doing it for Allah ALONE. Not for the ‘gram, not because mum said so. Your sincere intention matters.
Ittibah β Following the Sunnah. The CORRECT way. Learn the fiqh of fasting, follow the Prophet’s ο·Ί example, don’t innovate β stick to what’s authentic.
What Can Wreck Your Reward β οΈ

You can fast all day β but watch for these pitfalls:
π« Lying & backbiting β Even if it’s true, talking about people behind their backs is destructive.
π« Anger & arguing β Losing your temper destroys your fast’s reward.
π« Gossip & drama β Those group chats hit different in Ramadan. Be careful.
π« Showing off β Intention check!
π« Wasting time β Netflix marathons while fasting misses the entire point.
π« Being rude to parents β Fasting but disrespecting family = major L.
Ramadan: The Month of the Qur’an

The Qur’an was revealed in Ramadan. It isn’t just a book β it’s your GPS through life. And reading it during Ramadan hits different. Your heart is more open, more receptive. This is when you realign your priorities. π
Laylatul Qadr β The Greatest Night

Better than 1,000 months. That’s 83+ YEARS of reward. In. One. Night. π€―
Angels descend. Peace fills the earth until dawn. Search for it in the odd nights of the last ten days. Don’t sleep on this β literally. This is the ultimate cheat code for your akhirah.
Du’a at Iftaar β The Golden Window

The moment before you break your fast is one of the most powerful times for du’a. The Prophet ο·Ί said: “There are three whose du’a is not rejected: the fasting person until he breaks his fast…” (Tirmidhi 3598)
Pro tip: Have your personal du’a list ready BEFORE iftaar. Don’t waste that golden window! πͺβ¨
What Makes a Successful Ramadan

It’s not about being perfect. It’s about being consistent.
β
10 mins of Qur’an daily > a 3-hour session once a week
β
One extra sunnah prayer β stack the wins
β
Missed a goal? Reset and keep going. Allah sees the effort.
β
Protect the basics β 5 daily prayers on time + good character = strong foundation
“The most beloved deeds to Allah are those that are most consistent, even if they are small.”
β Sahih al-Bukhari 6464
Real Life: How Ramadan Redirects You

Fasting rewires your habits and builds your identity:
π± Phone addiction? β If you can leave food, you can leave your phone.
π€ Anger issues? β The Prophet ο·Ί said: “If someone insults you, say: I am fasting.”
π° Stress & pressure? β Ramadan teaches you to slow down and trust Allah’s plan.
π Bad habits? β 30 days of discipline builds real willpower that transfers to everything.
The Reset Starts NOW

Ramadan isn’t about being perfect. It’s about showing up, every single day, trying to be better than you were yesterday.
What is ONE thing you want to change about yourself this Ramadan? π€
